That is precisely what N started calling me after watching me sew all day today, making curtains for a friend. Factory girl. I was thinking he would want to do some type of cute Thanksgiving craft with these funky feathers we have. No. He wanted to sew like mom. First he made a necklace. Then, he sewed lots of different threads onto a piece of paper. After a mistake, it became a hat. After he was tired of wearing it, it became my factory girl hat. Yeah, I got to wear the had while I sewed and was simultaneously called factory girl by a four-year old.
He really did well with the sewing. This is a fun thing to do to practice fine motor skills and repetition. I just had to let him do his own thing- originally, he was supposed to follow the dots I made to trace the letter N. As you can see, that didn’t happen. But hey, I’d much rather have a factory girl hat anyway.
Have fun creating your own sewing project!
